Houdek is a band born from a conversation between two former South Dakotans living in Minnesota.  We thought music would be a good way to reconnect with our roots, as it's been a few years since we have lived there.

Musically, our aim is to touch on country, roots, rock, folk ... any style that might speak to the simple yet profound origins of American music, sounds that might grow from the fertile soils of South Dakota - the Houdek.
